-Researchers from the University of Navarra (Spain), with
the help of Harvard University (USA), have proved
for the first time that the use of olive oil reduces the risk
of heart attack, in some cases by up to 74%.
"The results of this pioneer study have been published
in the most recent international scientific magazine Journal
of Epidemiology". The document, titled Protective
effect of the olive oil against the risk of having a heart
attack: a study of cases and controls in Spain, has
been coordinated by the headmaster of the Department of Epidemiology
and Public Health, at the University of Navarra, Miguel Angel
Martinez, and by Doctor Elena Fernandez, a specialist of cardiology
at the University clinic in Navarra..."
